Narrative:
Altogether, there are 6 nos. of permanent slipways for repair/renovation works at our shipyard and the capacity of each slipway is 1500 metric tons. The yard also has the facility and provision to install temporary rails (with other equipment) to dock ships to satisfy the emergency repair needs of any ship.
Initially, the renovation works started on June, 2016 for 2 nos. of tankers elongation project by putting parallel mid-body on permanent slipways. Both the ships have already been undocked after the successful completion of underwater plating, sand-blasting and final painting works.
Presently, the average docking time is only 6 days per vessel for completing plate renewal/ repair works, sand blasting, plate gauging works and painting works satisfying any scheduling requirements. The main services or functions of the repairing section of our shipyard are as follows:
